Her power is the ability to manipulate heat in water, ranging from warming to boiling, which eventually grows to allow control over fire and lightning. Cleo, Emma, and Rikki are back in a second season with more adventures and challenges then ever. In the first episode in the season, the full moon creates havoc for the girls, granting them new powers (Cleo creating wind storms, Emma creating snow and blizzards, and Rikki creating lightning and fire). As the season goes on, the girls are trying to control their newly-found powers, while keeping their mermaid secret.

Years later, Rikki demonstrated having Telekinesis power; when she stopped a glass full of water from moving. Rikki later shows that although she always has her guard up with people she meets, she longs for companionship ever since her best friends Emma, Cleo, and Bella moved away, showing that she has been rather lonely over the years. Rikki soon opens up to Ondina and Weilan, who show her compassion and understanding, and state she is the same as they are. In the episode "The Dark Side", Rikki grew frustrated with Zane's insensitivity and ran away to face the water forces alone at the Moon Pool. There, she encounters the Water Tentacle and was shocked to find that she could connect with it.
Relationships
Cleo and Rikki wear their "Mako" cystals instead of their lockets because Bella doesn't have a locket and Bella already had a crystal from the moon pool in Ireland, where she became a mermaid. Lewis also gets a chance to study in America which could jeopardize his relationship with Cleo. When Will, the new boy finds out the crazy things that happen out at Mako, due to finding the moon pool on a full moon during a free-diving trip. He gets very curious, and thinks the girls may have something to do with Mako's magic. Lewis suddenly makes it even more difficult for the girls, when he realises that there is a very strong full moon coming and warns Charlotte in advance as she has never experienced a full moon before.
Charlotte has mastered her powers of controling water as she creats a three headed serpent to attack the girls with. Luckily the girls over rule her and she is dunked into the water just as the full moon came over the cone of the volcano. To keep Cleo and Emma from "ruining" the party, Charlotte asks them to bring the chairs from the pool room. As Cleo and Emma enter, Charlotte uses her powers to close the door, freeze the doorknob, and unfreezes the water pipe, flooding the room and turning Cleo and Emma into mermaids. Later on, Zane invited Rikki to go on a treasure hunt with him in the episode "In Over Our Heads". In this episode, he shows his concern for her when he saw how much she insisted on looking for the treasure and convinced her to take a break.
